Macide is in love with the famous composer Vedat Süreyya. She follows all of his programs. One day, Macide's father's friend Süleyman Bey offers to take Macide to Istanbul. Macide is delighted with this offer and moves to Istanbul to live in Süleyman Bey's house. Süleyman Bey's daughter Sacide is uncomfortable with this situation. She and her friends mock Macide for being from the countryside. At that moment, Sacide's boyfriend, Vedat Süreyya, arrives. He also looks down on Macide like the others.
